Get involved
Get involved
Coming along to a meeting is the easiest way to get involved - but if you’d like to do
a bit more, here are some ways to help the group.
Volunteer with the group
We’re run entirely by volunteers, and there’s always more to do than hands to do it. Whether you’ve got an hour a month or more time to give, there’s a role to fit.
- Helping out at meetings - setting up, making tea and coffee, welcoming people at the door
- Admin and organisation - emails, bookings, social media, keeping things running
- Planning ahead - helping shape future meetings, activities and events
Give a short talk
At each meeting we set aside time for a short presentation on a stroke-related topic - usually ten or fifteen minutes on something you know about or that’s helped you.
Some ideas members have suggested:
- Fatigue after stroke
- Coping with the emotional side of recovery
- Everyday ways of coping
- Driving again after a stroke
- Getting dressed and other daily living skills
Got another way to contribute? We’d love to hear from you. Please get in touch and we’ll have a chat.
